When life is harder than it should be...

All of us, at some time or another, need some help. Events may conspire to throw us for a loop. We may feel overwhelmed by the tasks of daily life, our feelings, or our relationships. At HAPS, we offer professional psychotherapy for those occasions when life is harder than it should be.

Who we are and what we do

We recognize that many people experience similar problems, but understand that not all problems or people are the same. We don't believe in taking a cookie-cutter, one size fits all approach to therapy. At HAPS, we tailor our treatment specifically to the individual.

We are a community based, nonprofit clinic. We opened our doors in the historic Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco in 1979 with the mandate of affordable counseling and psychotherapy for all. We also provide superior training for future therapists. We work with individuals, couples and groups on a sliding scale of $20 to $80.
